All of the files in this directory are crude attempts at "help" files which are actually extracts of assemblies of the source files [which in most cases have fair-to-good internal documentation for much of their operating particulars; quality varies widely.] Without exception, they were recovered from MDC8 diskettes used with OS/8 on that hardware with a verified then-current date of November 19, 1989; this would tend to confirm the file dates of the corresponding files which will tend to confirm these pertain to the last-known edit dates of each of the files. [Note: There are specific exceptions where work was performed after the creation of the help files.] Nothing replaces a good manual, but for now this is all there is. The file 00Readme-PQS8 1989 Help Files.txt gives a terse description of each of the .HELP files. Note: In OS/8 similar files are known by the extension .HL; the P?S/8 SHELL directory structure allows up to four characters in the extension. cjl 18-Feb-2015
