This emulator runs under UNIX, and it supports either a dumb terminal interface or a flashy X-11 front-panel, complete with blinkenlights. The current version of the emulator source, along with pdp-8 core images for it and some of the source code from which those core images were derived is available from: http://www.cs.uiowa.edu/~jones/pdp8/index.html Or, if you're stuck with FTP, ftp://ftp.cs.uiowa.edu/pub/jones/pdp8 There's a README file in every directory. (In the UK) The above note should have been posted in alt.sys.pdp8 because the DECmate is a member of the PDP-8 family of machines. There is a growing interest in these machines among collectors, and although most would prefer a transistorized model from the 1960's or a TTL model from the 1970's, many will have to settle for a more modern LSI implementation.
