Contents of this tape come from a MACREL V2 distribution included in a buildable RTS-8 archive found at: http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/academic/computer-science/history/pdp-8/rts8/v3/release/ That archive's readme say that it includes a complete MACREL V2 distribution naming the proper distribution DECtape and contents: I tested MACREL, LINK, and KREF by building and running RESORC v5a. FUTIL is version 8B FUTIL version 8A came on the original AL-5642B-BA tape. Version 8A or later is required for the new Core Control Block format, and KT8A extended memory support. Unfortunately, version 8A HANGS when run under batch. Version 8B incorporates patch 35.13.1M from April-May 1979 PDP-8 Digital Software News page 43 which corrects the job status word and start locations. I tested FUTIL 8B by using it to run several patches under BATCH. For additional safety, I have hand-integrated patch 41.5.1 M from December/January 1980 PDP-8 Digital Software News (197912_PDP8swNews_AA-J442A-BA.pdf) into OVRDRV.MA correcting a CDF problem and updating it to version 2B.
