Compressed Binary Loader (CBL)
5,8-26A

University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The CBL (Compressed Binary Loader) format in contrast to
BIN format utilizes all eight information channels of the
tape, thus achieving nearly 25% in time savings.

As BIN tapes include only one checksum at the end of the
tape, CBL tapes are divided into many independent blocks,
each of which includes its own checksum. Each block has

an initial loading address for the block and a word count of
the number of words to be loaded.
