For X12 and X22. independent random variables following chi-
square distributions, with V1 and V2 degrees of freedom, the
distribution of F =(X12V1)/(X22V2) follows the variance ration dis-
tribution. The probability that F occurred by chance, a
measure of effectiveness of the experiment, is calculated.
